Chandigarh, July 27
Members of the Chandigarh Youth Congress protested today outside the Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Sector 18 here. They were enraged by the directorate’s interrogation of party chief Sonia Gandhi.
Police detained the protesters as they tried to enter the ED office. They were later released.

The protesters shouted slogans against the ED and the Narendra Modi-led central government, while Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Delhi directorate for the third round of questioning in a money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.
Manoj Lubana, president of the City Youth Congress, who led the protest, said: “Suppress us or arrest us, our spirits will not be broken. The dictatorship of the BJP is now out in the open. We cannot deal with important issues in discussing in Parliament or raising people’s problems on the street. The government wants to suppress the opposition through the police and agencies.”
Party leaders Navdeep Singh, Harman Jassar and Lovely Thakur were among those arrested.
