Third round of admissions in MBA, MCA starts today

Ahmedabad: The Admissions Board for Professional Courses (ACPC) announced on Wednesday that the third round of admissions in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) courses start from September 22, Thursday.
At the end of the second round of admissions, a total of 3,617 students have been allocated, while there are 13,814 places in both courses that have remained unfilled. There are 18 government and grant MBA and MCA colleges and 157 self-funded colleges in the state.
An ACPC statement said 2,631 of the 12,321 seats in MBA have been filled, while in MCA, the Admissions Board admitted 986 students.
To fill these vacant seats, the committee is conducting a third round of admissions starting today, which will end on September 24.
Sources said the committee is likely to fill the vacant seats in government colleges by granting admission to those candidates who failed the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). In the case of private colleges, the committee will likely give the college boards the power to admit students to the remaining vacant seats.
