Shimron Hetmyer Returns As West Indies Name Squad For India T20Is

Lefthanded batter Shimron Hetmyer was named in the West Indies roster for the five-game T20I series against India, which begins Friday, and the three-game T20I series against New Zealand to follow. Cricket West Indies announced a roster of 16 members for the two series on Thursday. The matches against India will take place in the West Indies and Florida. Friday’s series opener will be the first T20 International to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.

While Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell are captain and vice-captain respectively, the batters named on the team are Shamarh Brooks, Brandon King, Kyle Mayers and Hetmyer.

Hetmyer was left out of the West Indies squad for the ODIs against India.

The squad is full of all-rounders such as Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Dominic Drakes, Devon Thomas, Keemo Paul and Akeal Hosein.


Azlarri Joseph, Obed McCoy and Hayden Walsh Jr are the bowlers in the squad.
