NEW DELHI: Still recovering from COVID-19, mohamed chami was dropped from India’s three-game T20I series against South Africawhile the versatile Bengal Shahbaz Ahmed came instead of a rested Hardik Pandya.
The series begins on September 28 in Thiruvananthapuram.
With off-road Deepak Hooda also out of series due to back spasms, national selection committee set to recall mid-ranked hitter Shreyas Iyer for the South Africa series.
“Shami has not recovered from his episode of COVID-19. He needs more time, and therefore he will be dropped from the South African series. Umesh Yadav will continue to replace Shami for the South African series ‚Äúsaid a senior BCCI source. PTI on condition of anonymity.
