In the multi-crore extortion case with con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar, actress, Jacqueline Fernandez was questioned for about eight hours by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police. She arrived at the Mandir Marg office of the probe bureau at 11:30 am and left just before 8:00 pm. Police also questioned Mumbai-based Pinky Irani, Chandrasekhar’s assistant, who introduced Jacqueline to him. In her statement, Jacqueline, who claimed to be a victim, reportedly told that Sukesh had introduced himself as the “owner of Sun TV and cousin of Jayalalithaa” and later learned that he had made an office in Tihar prison. and talk to her during video calls from the same angle. At first, the police recorded their statements separately and then the two were confronted and questioned face-to-face to clarify the matter. However, police found inconsistencies in both women’s statements. According to reports, the officials will discuss Jacqueline’s statements among themselves before deciding when to summon her again.
