Mahavir Kaushik, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner and Chief Administrator of the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board (SMMDSB), visited the temple grounds today to take stock of preparations for the Ashwin Navratra fair starting tomorrow.
Deputy Police Commissioner Surinder Pal Singh, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Shrine Board Ashok Kumar Bansal and Sharda Prajapati were among those in attendance at the occasion.

Kaushik inspected the property and took stock of the preparations for the fair. He also inspected police checkpoints set up in various places in connection with the fair and inquired about the security provisions. He also inquired about the arrangements made for parking vehicles on the temple grounds during the fair.
Kaushik also took stock of the electricity and water supplies on the temple grounds. He instructed the officials involved to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the temple grounds during the fair. He said that generators should also be arranged if necessary so that devotees visiting the temple do not experience any inconvenience.
He instructed the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure that there are enough water tankers during the fair.
Meanwhile, in view of the incessant rains in the region and an incident in which a tree fell on the school grounds in Chandigarh, the district administration today put up a notice board on a Peepal tree, which is more than 100 years old, on the temple. buildings advising people not to go near the tree.
