The last Asia Cup Super 4 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka may have been a clincher as both teams were already in the final, but that didn’t mean there was no drama in the match. In what was a dress rehearsal for the duel at the summit, both teams fought hard and Sri Lanka eventually emerged victorious in a low-scoring game. After knocking out Pakistan for 121, Sri Lanka was 103/4 after 15 overs. Then there was a moment of confusion in the next about when Pakistan appealed after Mohammad Rizwan thought Dasun Shanaka grabbed one behind him.
Hasan Ali threw a short that tried to push the Sri Lanka skipper up. However, he missed his shot and the ball went to wicketkeeper Rizwan.
Rizwan was confident in his roll call, but the umpire didn’t call out. As the Pakistani players discussed, the umpire signaled a DRS review.
However, Pakistani captain Babar Azam was seen walking up to the referee and saying “Captain mai hu (I am the captain),”, as he had not signaled for the review.

Replays showed the ball failed to hit the bat and Pakistan lost the rating.
Shanaka was next over out, but Pathum Nissanka hit 10 runs from the last three deliveries to ensure Sri Lanka crossed the line with three overs left.

Nissanka was undefeated on 55 of 48 deliveries as he anchored the chase brilliantly despite some good bowling from the Pakistani pacers.
The two teams now face each other again on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium in the Asian Cup final.
