Babar Azam leads Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup
Pakistan announced its roster for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup on Thursday. The Babar Azam-led team is very similar to the team that recently competed in the Asian Cup. There was no joy for veteran batter Shoaib Malik, who supported many ex-cricketers for a recall after Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka in the Asian Cup.
Shadab Khan has been named as Babar’s deputy, while Prime Minister paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi has been named to the squad. Pakistan has an exciting bowling department with names like Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain in addition to Afridi. Shahnawaz Dahani has been named in the reserves.
Fakhar Zaman, who had a rather mediocre Asian Cup, has been relegated to the reserve list. Test opener Shan Masood has been named in the squad along with the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Asif Ali, Khushdil Shah and others.
