Mohammad Kaif celebrates after taking the wicket of Thisara Perera.
Former Native American batter Mohammad Kaif boasted on social media about his bowling skills after claiming a wicket in a match between India Maharajas and World Giants ahead of the Legends League Cricket season 2. He posted the video of him taking a wicket while bowling in the game, Kaif tagged BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly and said: “Special attention skipper: see the drift, flight and turn by Mohammad Kaif the all-rounder. Dada do you think you missed a trick?”
It is worth noting that Kaif was part of the Indian team captained by Ganguly in the early 2000s. However, the batter didn’t get a bowling opportunity in the ODIs, throwing just 18 balls in the Test format in his entire career.

Kaif got a wicket on the second ball from his first left on Friday. He threw it outside the stump at World Giants’ Thisara Perera. The batter got an outside edge and short third man Parvinder Awana, who was the substitute fielder, put in good ground to his left before diving and taking the flyout.
Speaking of the match, Pankaj Singh returned numbers of 5 for 26 in his four overs to stop World Giants at 170 for 8 despite Kevin O’Brien’s 52 from 31 balls.
In response, the Indian Maharajas Virender Sehwag, Parthiv Patel and Kaif lost early and were thus reduced to 50 for 3 in 6.5 overs. This is when Yusuf Pathan came in at the crease and netted 103 runs for the fourth wicket with Tanmay Srivastava to nearly seal the game for India Maharajas.
Srivastava scored 54 runs off 39 balls, while Yusuf was able to score 50 runs off 35 balls.
The Legends League Cricket Season 2 kicks off on Saturday with a match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants at Eden Gardens.
