Leslie Grace shares behind-the-scenes video of ‘Batgirl’ – News Kidda

batgirl star Leslie Grace shared a video on her TikTok featuring behind-the-scenes clips from the discarded DC movie.

The 15 second video starts with a shot of the actress with her smeared batgirl makeup, including clips of her practicing her fight scenes and stunts and hanging out on the set of the project, along with her cast and crew.

Grace’s look at the making of batgirl comes just over a month after she broke her silence about canceling her DC movie and called herself her “own damn hero.”

“Querida familia! Following the recent news about our movie ‘Batgirl’, I am proud of the love, hard work and intention that all our incredible cast and tireless crew have put into this film during 7 months in Scotland,” In the Heights breakout wrote on Instagram on August 3. “I feel blessed to have spent a lifetime working and forging relationships among absolute greats! To every Batgirl fan: THANK YOU for the love and faith that allowed me to take on the cape and become.’”

Grace would take on the role of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in the film and was the first Latina to play the part. Helped by Bad boys for life filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the cast also included Michael Keaton, back as Batman, Brendan Fraser as the villain Firefly and JK Simmons as Barbara’s father, Commissioner James Gordon.

At the time, the directors shared that they were “sad” and “shocked” by the news that Warner Bros. Discovery deleted the film.

“We still can’t believe it,” they said. “As directors, it’s critical that our work is shown to the public, and while the film was far from finished, we wish fans around the world had had the chance to see and embrace the final film for themselves. .”

A Warner Bros. spokesperson told: News Kidda at the time the company’s decision not to release batgirl reflected the strategic shift in leadership in the wake of the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery.

“Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision does not reflect her achievements,” the spokesperson said. “We are the filmmakers of batgirl … and we hope to work with everyone again in the near future.”
