Kate Winslet is ready to return to work after a hospital visit following an accident while filming an upcoming project in Croatia.
The actress filmed her title role in the historical drama film Lee when an accident on set resulted in her being taken to a nearby hospital to make sure she was okay, her reps confirmed that News Kidda. Winslet will resume shooting this week as scheduled.
“Kate slipped and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure due to production,” her team said. “She is doing well and will be filming this week as planned.”
The 46-year-old Oscar winner portrays photographer Lee Miller in the film that centers on her life, including her work as a war correspondent for Fashion during the Second World War. The cast for the film from director Ellen Kuras includes Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O’Connor.
Winslet, who has a role in the upcoming Avatar: The way of the waterwas last seen on the small screen with HBOs Mare by Easttown, which won her an Emmy Award last year. Recent film credits include: ammonite, Blackbird and The mountain between us.
During an interview in 2017 with THR’s Awards Chatter podcast, the seven-time Oscar nominee said the joy she feels while acting hasn’t diminished over the years: “I love it more than ever, and I’ll still love it when I’m 75.”
She had previously told THR that she never had a backup career path in mind, explaining, “I don’t have a huge business brain; I’m smart, but I don’t have a business brain. And I’m not one for offices and wearing high heels to work every day – forget it. It was all about acting, always, it really was.”
