Karrion Kross targets Roman Reigns after shock return

Friday Night SmackDown took place last night, and with Triple H at the helm coming out of WWE SummerSlam, things promised to get pretty exciting.

Ricochet final. Happy Corbin

After laughing at Corbin’s expense with Pat McAfee’s hilarious video of Corbin getting hit below the belt at SummerSlam, Corbin met Ricochet in the ring to teach him a lesson.

In a back-and-forth affair, Ricochet took advantage of The Lone Wolf focusing too much on berating Pat McAfee on commentary, taking the win with an impressive 450 Splash.

Shinsuke defeats Nakamura. Ludwig Kaiser wins a future Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther

The King of Strong Style once again took on The Ring General’s trusted ally in Ludwig Kaiser. The stakes were even higher because Nakamura would earn himself a future Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther if he beat Kaiser.

Kaiser impressed during the match, performing an innovative German Suplex on Nakamura. In the end, however, Nakamura would prevail and take the win with a Kinshasa, earning him a future Intercontinental Championship match.

Sonya Deville called Liv Morgan a cheater

Shayna Baszler triumphed in a Gauntlet Match to earn a SmackDown Women’s Championship against Liv Morgan at Clash at the Castle

Sonya Deville def. aliyah

The Gauntlet Match started with a bang as the nefarious Sonya Deville battled the up and comer Aliyah. Aliyah’s tenacity was no match for Deville who locked her up with de Deville’s attorney.

Raquel beats Rodriguez. Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville had done her job for her when the domineering Raquel Rodriguez waited for her. Rodriguez wasted no time directing Deville and won the match with a Tejana bomb.

Raquel Rodriguez beats. Shotzi

Raquel Rodriguez’s dominance continued with an effortless win over Shotzi, hitting the Tejana bomb to seal the deal.

Raquel beats Rodriguez. Xia Li

Xia Li’s high voltage surges were next on Raquel Rodriguez’s path to victory. Rodriguez knocked out these kicks and put Li away with the Tejana bomb.

Raquel Rodriguez beats. Natalya

At this point Rodriguez was feeling quite confused and Natalya took advantage of this and enjoyed large parts of the match being in control. Just when things looked worst for Rodriguez, she hit a devastating Tejana bomb out of nowhere, bringing her one step closer to Clash at the Castle.

Shayna beats Baszler. Raquel Rodriguez

Sadistic Shayna Baszler was the last boss in Rodriguez’s ascent to Clash at the Castle. With nothing left in the tank, Rodriguez gave it his all, but Baszler took advantage of Rodriguez’s pain and smashed the Kirifuda clutch. Rodriguez would fight the pain, but succumb to Baszler’s unique pinning combination to send Baszler to Clash at the Castle.

With Baszler’s win, she now faces a vulnerable Liv Morgan at Clash at the Castle for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The Viking Raiders def. Jim Pulkey & Tommy Gibson

Chaos and destruction were rampant as the Viking Raiders completely dismantled two local wrestlers and took the win with an Assisted Powerbomb, piling up both Pulkey and Gibson.

Kofi Kingston def. Erik

After coming out of the shadows with a deadly Kendo Stick in the wake of the Viking Raiders match, Kofi Kingston tangled up with Erik. Kingston hit a surprise roll-up to take a win in the name of Xavier Woods who was knocked out last week with a vicious Steel Chair attack to the ankle.

Karrion Kross ambushed Drew McIntyre and sent a message to Roman Reigns
