Jhingan, Chinglensana misses flight to Vietnam due to travel document issues | Football News

KOLKATA: The defensive pair of the Indian football team Sandesh Jhingan and Chinglensana Singh missed the flight to Vietnam where two international friendlies are scheduled, due to issues with travel documents.
Jhingan and Chinglensana were left out of India’s 23-member squad, including Sunil Chhetriwho left Kolkata on Tuesday evening for Vietnam with the head coach Igor Stimac and other support staff.
“Jhingan and Chinglensana had some issues with their travel documents and immigration officials did not allow them to board the flight to Vietnam,” a source familiar with the development told PTI under the guise of anonymity.
“Efforts are being made to ensure both players board another flight to Vietnam on Thursday.”
India will face Singapore on September 24 in Ho Chi Minh City before taking on Vietnam three days later.
Both matches will be the Indian team’s first after reaching the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Finals with convincing wins in qualifying in June.
