“The Indian Olympic Association has asked the players of the Indian contingent to birmingham The 2022 Commonwealth Games will not spend much time in public places due to the threat of COVID-19, which may endanger the health and participation of players,” the AIO said in a statement.
The governing body has also asked Indian athletes to employ all precautionary measures whenever necessary.

The IOA directive comes at a time when the UK continues to record thousands of cases of COVID-19, despite falling numbers.
India has fielded a contingent of 321 which includes 215 athletes and 107 officials and support staff for the quadrennial event.
The CTM will be held from July 28 to August 8.
