Inter Milan post 140 million-euro loss in 2021-22 accounts | Football News

MILAN: Inter Milan announced on Wednesday that they recorded a loss of 140 million euros ($133.9 million) for the 2021-22 season, a significant reduction following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The loss, which Inter said in a statement was due to virus restrictions still in place for the first half of last campaign, was around €105m less than the previous season’s record losses.
The turnover also increased by 75 million euros compared to the previous season to 439.6 million euros.
Inter said that if the end of the 2019-20 season (which took place in the following financial year after the pandemic ravaged Europe) is not taken into account, the increase in income will amounts to 140 million euros.
Owner Sun “has already formally expressed its commitment to supporting the group” by covering the losses, Inter said.
“The club’s two main objectives remain unwavering: to keep the team competitive at the highest level in all competitions and to strengthen its financial position,” Inter said.
Inter Friday A-series rivals Juventus recorded record losses of 254.3 million euros, the fifth consecutive year that their accounts are in the red.
