India vs West Indies: Skipper Rohit Sharma retires hurt with back muscle pull in third T20I | Cricket News

BASSETERRE (St Kitts & Nevis): India captain Rohit Sharma pulled a muscle near the waist as he beat and was forced to retire early injured in India’s 165 chase against West Indies in the third T20 International on Tuesday.
Rohit (11) had taken a six and a four Joseph Alzarri and ran a single before suddenly starting to feel his waist. Indian team physio Kamlesh came to the pitch to assist Rohit.
After a few minutes of consultation, Rohit retired injured, which felt more like a precautionary measure.
It could not be determined if this was more than a muscle pull or if the Indian skipper could be a questionable starter for the next two games scheduled in Florida on August 6-7.
For now, it looks like four days off could well ensure the Indian captain would be back in action in the United States provided his medical reports are good.
