India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first against Australia in the third and final T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket in Hyderabad. With the series tied at 1-1, India made just one change to their playing XI from the previous match when Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to the side and replaced wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant. India had tied the series 1-1 after beating Australia in a rainy game. During the toss, Rohit explained why Pant had to sit out the series decider.

Rohit explained that in the previous match the team only needed four bowlers, which was reduced to an 8-overs-per-side match. As a result, Bhuvneshwar had to sit out the match and Pant was included in the playing XI.

“We’ll be bowling first. It’s good to be back in Hyderabad and playing in front of this crowd. We want to keep winning matches, it’s important to keep your momentum in this format of the game, so it was a good win for us (in Nagpur). Australia has always been a challenge, they bring a different kind of challenge. We have to keep doing the basics right if we want to be successful. The last win has given us more confidence and I hope everyone get up today.” said Rohit at the toss.

“One change for us – Bhuvi is back, Rishabh is missing. We only needed 4 bowlers in the last game, so he (Bhuvneshwar) missed unfortunately,” he said of the team composition.

Recently, Bhuvneshwar was under the scanner for his death bowling.
