NEW DELHI: Indian wicket keeper Taniya Bhatia On Monday, she claimed she was robbed of her important possessions, including cash, cards and jewelry, during the women’s team’s stay at the Marriott Hotel in London.
The Indian side recently wrapped up their UK tour with a first-ever ODI 3-0 cleanout of the hosts in their backyard, with the streak coming to a controversial end after Deepti Sharmais short of Charlie Dean in the final match at Lord’s last Saturday.
“Shocked and disappointed by the management of the Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale; someone entered my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewelery during my recent stay as part of from Indian women’s cricket team. So dangerous,” Bhatia tweeted.

“Hoping for a speedy investigation and resolution of this matter. Such a lack of security at @ECB_cricket’s favorite hotel partner is staggering. I hope they take notice too,” she wrote in another tweet.
Following the 24-year-old’s complaint, the hotel responded via his Twitter handle and wrote, “Hi Taniya, we are sorry to hear this. Please send us your name and email address with which to you have made the reservation as well as the exact dates of your stay, so that we can investigate this matter further.”
India had played 3 T20Is and as many ODIs in England from September 10 to 24. Bhatia was part of the Indian WODI team.
