DUBAI: Star India hitter Virat Kohli jumped 14 places to 15th at last ICC Ranking the T20 international batters after a great show in the recently concluded Asian Cup.
Kohli made handsome gains after producing a dominant batting display (276 runs in five games) at the continental tournament held in the United Arab Emirates which also saw him mark his first international century in nearly three years.
Mid-order hitter Suryakumar Yadav remained India’s top-ranked hitter as he retained fourth place with 755 runs in the hitting list led by Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan (810).
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also retained his 14th position in the list with 606 points.
On the list of bowlers, Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar fell one place to seventh while spinners Ravichandran Ashwin (up nine places to 41st) and Axar Patel (up 14 places to 57th) also made significant gains.
Pakistani bowling duo Haris Rauf (nine places to 25th) and Mohammad Nawaz (seven places to 34th) were the biggest winners after their strong performances in the Asian Cup.
However, the bowling standings are still led by Australian point guard Josh Hazlewood with 792 points, followed by South African Tabraiz Shamsi (716) and England’s Adil Rashid (702).
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi conceded top all-rounder to Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hassan.
