Edge returns to take revenge on doomsday

Edge is back in WWE, returning tonight at the big SummerSlam event at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Edge returned during the match between The Mysterios and his former stable, Judgment Day.

When Rhea Ripley got involved in the match, Edge made his presence felt and came to the ring to punch Damian Priest and Finn Balor with brutal Spears.

Edge came to the ring with an incredible entrance, and walked to the ring to a remixed theme of his old Brood entrance music.

Edge was last seen on WWE TV on the June 7 episode of Monday Night Raw, with Balor in the same segment.

Balor joined the group before orchestrating an attack by Priest and Ripley on Edge, removing the WWE Hall of Famer from the group.

The return will give Raw some great star power, with a ravishing singles match between Edge and Finn Balor sure to be at stake in the coming weeks.

Edge was actually supposed to return this week on Raw, with the big show at Madison Square Garden.

Reports state that Edge’s return was actually delayed due to Vince McMahon’s retirement, which you can read more about by clicking here.

In fact, the same reports claim that Edge would return past Beth Phoenix, but the latter didn’t make it to her husband at SummerSlam, so it looks like that part of the return was scrapped.

Edge wasn’t the only top star to return to SummerSlam, and former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley also returned tonight.

She didn’t come alone, though, as after being out of the ring for over a year, Bayley returned alongside former WWE star Dakota Kai and former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai.

You can watch WWE SummerSlam, featuring Roman Reigns v Brock Lesnar, live tonight in the US on Peacock and in all other international markets including the UK on the WWE network.
