DG NCC Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh emphasizes the need to involve more young people in NCC activities

JAMMU: Emphasizing the increasing role of NCC Cadets in society and also in uniting the nation, Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, Director General National Cadet Corps stressed on Wednesday the need to involve more young people in NCC activities, with a special focus on border and rural areas.
He said this during a visit NCC Jammu . DirectorateKashmir and Ladakh (JK&L) in Jammu during his two-day visit to the JK&L Directorate.
PRO Defense Jammu Lt. Col Devender Anand said: “During his visit, DG-NCC Lieutenant General Mr Singh will also witness training activities on NCC Training AcademyNagrota on Thursday.
“Emphasizing the increasing role of NCC cadets in society and also in uniting the nation, DG-NCC emphasized the need to involve more youth in NCC activities, with a special focus on border and rural areas.”
Colonel Anand said: “The Director General addressed the officers present and praised the work being done by everyone in the Directorate and underlined that young people have the power and potential to create positive change in society that is inclusive and sustainable. Therefore, all ranks placed in the NCC must strive to provide the cadets with the highest standards of training.”
The Director General also liaised with NCC Alumni and urged the Alumni to come forward and participate in advancing the cause of NCC.
“Previously, the DG-NCC was briefed on the organization, functioning and training conducted in both the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh by the Director General of Addl, NCC Directorate JK&L, Colonel Anand added.
He said that NCC Group Commanders of Jammu and Srinagar also informed the DG NCC about the NCC activities in all districts of UT of J&K and Ladakh.
