CWG 2022: India women’s lawn bowls pair bows out after quarterfinal loss | Commonwealth Games 2022 News

BIRMINGHAM: The pair of Indian women Beautiful Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikai were eliminated from the Commonwealth Games here on Friday after being knocked out in the quarter-finals.
The Indian duo lost to Englandby Sophie Tolchard and Amy Pharaoh 18-14.
Choubey and Saikai led twice, first 5-2 after four rounds and 8-6 after the end nine.
However, they squandered an early advantage and allowed the English pair of Tolchard (leader) and Pharoah (skip) to come back strong.
After the 10th round, England took the lead and continued to increase their lead and eventually emerged victorious.
England will now face New Zealand in the semi-finals, while Australia will face Malaysia in the last four clashes.
