CWG 2022: India get Pooja Vastrakar boost ahead of must-win tie against Barbados | Commonwealth Games 2022 News

Fresh off the heels of a morale-boosting eight-wicket victory over Pakistan, India will be further boosted by the arrival of their versatile star player Pooja Vastrakarwho has recovered from Covid-19 as the team prepare for a place in the semi-finals when they face Barbados in a do-or-die match of the women’s T20 competition.
This is the first time that India will play under the lights of the event. The winner will advance to the last four.
Vastrakar and hitter S Meghana had tested positive for Covid-19 but have now joined the team. While Meghana played against Pakistan, it will be interesting to see if Vastrakar line up against Barbados. Vastrakar was a big miss for India in the opening game as they suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of world champions ODI and T20 Australia.

Another versatile player India will bank on is off spinner Sneh Rahawho took two wickets in the eighth in their return leg as India beat Pakistan for 99 from 18 overs in a rain-limited match.
“It’s a special feeling. Everything we planned in the net sessions worked out,” she said after the game.
India are also hoping that their two star hitters, Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaurwill come to the party in this key clash.
