CWG 2022: India beat England to enter final of men’s fours in Lawn Bowls | Commonwealth Games 2022 News

BIRMINGHAM: India are assured of a second medal in the bowls competition after the men’s four-man team qualified for the Commonwealth Games final on Friday.
After the quartet of Lovely Choubey (first), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third) and Rupa Rani Tirkey (underpants) beat South Africa 17-10 in the four ladies final to offer the ndia a historic gold medal on Tuesday, it was the men’s team’s turn to follow their female counterparts.
The male quartet of Sunil Bahadur (conduct), Navneet Singh (second), Chandan Kumar Singh (third) and Dinesh Kumar (jump) hosts defeated England by a tight margin of 13-12 in the semi-finals to secure India at least a silver medal.
Earlier today, the female pair of Lovely Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikai were knocked out of the Games after being knocked out in the quarter-finals.
The Indian duo lost to England’s Sophie Tolchard and Amy Pharoah 18-14.
Choubey and Saikai led twice, first 5-2 after four rounds and 8-6 after the end nine.
However, they squandered an early advantage and allowed the English pair of Tolchard (leader) and Pharoah (skip) to come back strong.
After the 10th round, England took the lead and continued to increase their lead and eventually emerged victorious.
