CWG 2022: Cyclist Ronaldo finishes 12th in 1000m time trial final | Commonwealth Games 2022 News

BIRMINGHAM: Indian cyclist Ronaldo Brass Jam came in with a time of 1:02.500 to finish 12th in the men’s 1000m time trial final at the Commonwealth Games on Monday.
The 20-year-old Indian, who won a silver medal in the senior category sprint event at the Asian Track Championships in June, was 2.995 seconds behind gold medalist Matthew Glaetzer, who managed a time of 59.505.
Another Australian, Thomas of Cornwall (1:00.036) and Trinidad and Tobago Nicholas Paul (1:00.089) won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
Ronaldo had lost to Australian Matthew Glaetzer in the men’s sprint pre-quarterfinals on Sunday.
In the first round of the Women’s Keiren, Triyacha Paul, Shushikala Agashe and Mayuri Lute was unable to advance to the second round.
Triyasha and Shushikala finished third and fourth in their respective round one repechage rounds. Only the first runner in each heat qualifies for the second round.
