Covid: 2 dead, 121 new cases in Mohali: News Kidda

In the district, two more people have died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 1,161.

One of the deceased is a 40-year-old man from Bankarpur in Dera Bassi and the other a 75-year-old woman from Khera village in Kharar. Both had comorbid conditions and were not vaccinated.

Meanwhile, 121 people had tested positive in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of Covid cases in the district to 99,141. Ninety-six patients were cured of the disease. There were 734 active cases.

So far, a total of 20,92,618 beneficiaries have received anti-covid injections. As many as 11,56,641 people have received the first doses, while 8,78,072 people have received a second dose. Of those, 57,905 beneficiaries received the booster dose or third dose. Civil surgeon Adarshpal Kaur said a total of 74,552 beneficiaries between the ages of 15 and 17 had been vaccinated as of Tuesday. — TNS

Chandigarh records 101 cases, one death

Chandigarh: The city reported 101 new cases and one death from the virus on Tuesday. The number of active cases has risen to 936. The deceased was an 89-year-old Mani Majra man, who died at Mohali Hospital. — TNS

82 contract virus in Panchkula

Panchkula: 82 new cases surfaced in the district, bringing the total to 46,937 in the district. No death from the virus has been reported until Tuesday evening. — TNS
