BIRMINGHAM: Indian pugilist Nitu Ganghas qualified for the women’s 48 kg semi-finals boxing category to secure a medal at the Commonwealth Games here on Wednesday.
Nitu, 21, a two-time youth gold medalist, was declared the winner by the ABD when Northern Ireland opponent Nicole Clyde threw in the towel in the third and final round of the quarter-final match .
Four Indian boxers Lovlina Borgohain, Nikhat Zareen, Ashish Kumar and Mohammad Hussamuddin will compete in their quarter-final bouts later today.
