Siva Sakthi (10th minute) and Brazil’s Alan Costa (61st) scored for the winners while Apuia scored the only goal for the Mumbai side in an entertaining game.
The Blues took an early lead thanks to a fifth goal of the tournament from Siva Sakthi.

The long ball was delivered from deep by Jovanovic which put Mourtada Fall under pressure with Siva on his shoulder. The Senegalese defender was eventually foxed by the rebound and Siva pounced on it with a measured chip on the keeper.

After Chhangte had the first chance for the Islanders in the 17th minute, they equalized on the half hour mark when Sandesh Jhingan delivered a free kick into a dangerous area.
Ahmed Jahouh played on Greg Stewart, who made one of his runs and took a left-footed pitch towards goal which Gurpreet Sandhu pushed away. Apuia was within reach though and pulled off the rebound with ease.
The Blues then nearly took the lead in the 38th minute when, from a Roshan Singh corner, a rebound fell for Roy Krishna and he fired towards the goal, but Chhangte pulled off a miraculous save on the goal line.
Vinit Rai then had a chance after being played by Stewart but shot from close range and the only other notable incident of the half was the game’s first yellow card for Mumbai captain Mourtada Fall, who had 45 forgettable minutes.
The game maintained its intensity in the second half. Five minutes into the restart, Jahouh delivered a long, measured ball which fell on Chhangte who did well to clear away two BFC defenders, but with just the keeper to beat, the tournament’s top scorer fired over the top.
BFC then took the lead for the second and final time in the match, when on a Sunil Chhetri corner kick aiming for the far post, Brazilian Alan Costa jumped high and nailed a header into the back of the Mumbai net.
The most notable chance for Mumbai in the second half came from Spain midfielder Ripoll in the 77th minute when he made a solo run from midfield and sparked a surging drive that beat Gurpreet but lost. hit the left upright and came back.
Chhetri also had a few golden chances to score, once in the 69th minute when his left-footed shot missed the target and then again in the 87th when he was one-on-one with the keeper, but Lachenpa was up to it. and pulled off a great save.
With six minutes left in extra time, Mumbai gave a final blow and Greg Stewart went close in the 94th minute, but his effort was also just wide.
