Babar Azam No Longer World’s No. 1 T20I Batter. This Star Replaces Him In ICC Rankings

India captain Rohit Sharma took three spots to finish in 14th place, while Suryakumar Yadav dropped one place to fourth in the batters’ ICC T20I ranking released on Wednesday. Rohit (612 rating points) moved up three places after scoring a 41-ball 72 against Sri Lanka in an Asian Cup Super 4 match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. At the top of the battle card is Pakistani Mohammad Rizwan (815 rating points), who has replaced his teammate and captain Babar Azam (794 rating points).

Rizwan has scored 192 runs in three Asian Cup matches and is the leading points catcher in the tournament so far.

Suryakumar (775 rating points), apart from his sensational 68 from just 29 balls against Hong Kong, failed to replicate his performances against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the big games.

Star batter Virat Kohli took four places and is in 29th place after scoring 60 against Pakistan.

Ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (up eight places to 50th) and young pacer Arshdeep Singh (up 28 places to 62nd) have also advanced.

Hardik Pandya remained in fifth place in the all-rounder’s chart. Sri Lankan Pathum Nissanka has secured a spot to finish in eighth, after taking scores of 20, 35 and 52.

The 24-year-old also made 52 from 37 balls to help his side beat India in a Super Four match on Wednesday.

Afghan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz also made it 14 spots to take 15th place, after his 84 knockout against Sri Lanka in the Super Four clash.

Australian pacemaker Josh Hazlewood (792 rating points) and Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan (256 rating points) top the bowling and all-rounder charts, respectively.
