Arunachal govt to crack down on cash-for-job scam criminals after probe

ITANAGAR: The government of Arunachal Pradesh will take appropriate action against officials involved in the cash for job scam in the education department after completing an investigation, the meeting was informed on Wednesday.
Answer a question from Congress MLA Ninong Ering during Question TimeMinister of Education Taba Tedir said the investigation into illegal teacher and multitasking staff (MTS) appointments has been launched against the retired school education director.
The minister said Interior Minister CN Longpai, who is the investigation officer, was ordered on Aug. 25 to investigate all charges against the former director of primary education. Tapi Gao and submit the report within 20 days.
The investigation is pending and action will be taken against those responsible, Tedir said.
Raising the question, Ering said that although the scam surfaced in 2020, the department has yet to file the investigative report in the House.
The education department had laid off 31 employees, but the Itanagar bank of Gauhati Supreme Court ordered it to recover them, Tedir said.
