Anne Heche was hospitalized after her car crashed into a Los Angeles home on Friday, setting both the house and vehicle on fire, CNN reported.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed in a public report that a female driver’s solo car collided with a two-story home in LA’s Mar Vista neighborhood, causing “structural compromises and an eruption of heavy fire.” The woman was rescued from the car and taken to a local hospital in critical condition; Firefighters extinguished the fire in about an hour.
CNN confirmed Heche was the driver, citing an undisclosed source.
Los Angeles police told the outlet that the car went off the road and hit the house after driving at high speed, and the driver suffered burns.
A representative of Heche did not immediately respond News Kiddas request for comment.
The 53-year-old actress earned a Daytime Emmy Award early in her career for her work on soap operas An other world. She is also known for her performance in such films as I know what you did last summer, Six days, seven nights and Gus Van Sant’s psychosis redo.
