Alex Hales called up by England for T20 World Cup after three-year absence | Cricket News

England Alex the drummer Hales should return to the national team three years after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named him to their squad for next month’s Twenty20 World Cup on Wednesday at Australia.
Hales last played for England in March 2019 after the 33-year-old was dropped from the preliminary World Cup squad aged 50 that year after the Guardian newspaper reported that he was serving a three-week ban for recreational drug use.
He goes to England T20 World Cup team as a replacement for Jonny Bairstow, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
Former world champions England begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on October 22 in Perth.
