Activists gherao exam director, questions postponement of exams

Bombay: Members of Yuva Sena gheraoed the director (exams and evaluations) in his office on Kalina Campus of the University of Mumbai on Thursday morning. The activists demanded a postponement of the final semester V exams, which were due to start in two weeks. They have locked the office and have been on dharna for over an hour now. Final year students have requested a postponement of exams because the announcement came at very short notice. Students from four universities of applied sciences have also written to the controller. Many students gathered on campus to meet the principal.
In their letter, students said they were not given enough time and practice to struggle with physical exams, especially where long answers are expected. These students have been giving online exams with multiple choice questions for two years now.
