The state government has 930 . selected PhD student for three years allowance scheme. The Gujarat Kennis Knowledge Consortium (KCG) will make an official announcement on Thursday. The selected candidates will be awarded a total amount of Rs 4 lakh during the period of three years.
Sources said the state government had invited applications from PhD students for the year 2021-22 through KCG. In response, the state government had received about 1,200 applications. According to sources, about 930 students are selected after examining their applications and financial backgrounds. The criteria for selection include the selection of research topics by candidates, the social benefits of that research and the candidates’ financial background.
Under the scheme, the state government will give a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000 to the selected candidates and Rs 20,000 as a one-time emergency fund. In total, each selected student will be awarded Rs 4 lakh in a period of three years. Sources said the government will pay a total of Rs 37.20 crore in 2021-22.
