17k allocated seats in the 2nd intake round in engg courses

At the end of the second admission round in technical training17,640 students have been allocated seats, the Admissions Board for Professional Courses ACPC said in a statement on Wednesday.
At the end of the first round of intake, 21,962 students were allocated a place, of whom 14,286 have confirmed their admission.
There are 53,438 engineering degree places available in 130 government-run, subsidized, and private colleges in the state.
An ACPC statement said 27,831 students applied for the second round of admissions and 17,640 of them were allocated seats.
The statement says that those students who have been awarded a seat must confirm their admission by paying token fees before October 3. The commission will declare vacant seat status on Oct. 5 and then issue further instructions to institutes on admissions, the statement said.
The statement states that 100% seats are occupied in 13 of the institutes, while 50%-70% of seats are occupied in 17 institutes. However, there are 55 institutes in the state where the number of occupied seats is less than 10%. There are 19 government and grant institutions, 111 self-funded institutions in the state.
